In order to enhance the international competitiveness of Shenzhen University, accelerate university’s globalization process, seek to become a high-level university, and generate high motivation towards current international students, the university hereby establishes the following awards and scholarships for the international students of Shenzhen University according to relevant criteria of Guangdong Outstanding International Student Scholarship. The announcement of the selection of the international student scholarship and rewards of Shenzhen University in 2020 is as follows:

1. Applicants for various types of scholarships and awards must meet the following basic requirements:

(1) International students whom enrolled in Shenzhen University and registered in the first semester of 2020-2021 academic year.

(2) No violation of Chinese laws and regulations and school disciplines.

(3) International students at school must actively participate in various student activities organized by the school and perform well.

2. Type of Scholarship and Rewards

(1) Outstanding Student Scholarship

a. Detailed Requirements

[1] International Students who have not won the 2020 Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship for International St udents and are studying in Shenzhen University for undergraduate and master's degree.

[2] Students have completed more than one year's degree education of the current degree programme in our university.

[3] All the grade of compulsory courses taken in 2019-2020 academic year are require to pass with Excellent performance for an average GPA of 3.4 or above for undergraduate student in 2019-2020 academic year, or excellent performance with an average GPA of 3.0 or above for graduate students in 2019-2020 academic year.

[4] Actively participate in various student activities organized by the school and perform well.

b. Award criteria

Undergraduate: 10000 yuan/person; Master: 15000 yuan/person

(2) Competition Bonus

a. Detailed Requirements

Those sent by the school to participate in the 2019-2020 academic year national, provincial and municipal competitions and win the third prize or above (including the third prize) shall provide the relevant award level certificate. (Amount of group awards given shall refer to the amount of individual awards in the corresponding awards).

b. Award criteria

National level: 5000-10000yuan/per year（First prize: 10000 yuan; Second prize: 7500 yuan; Third prize: 5000 yuan)

Provincial level: 2000-5000yuan /per year （First prize: 5000 yuan; Second prize: 3500 yuan; Third prize: 2000 yuan)

City level: 1000-1500yuan /per year （First prize: 1500 yuan; Second prize: 1250 yuan; Third prize: 1000 yuan)

(3) Community Service Award

a. Detailed Requirements

Applicants must satisfy all of the following:

A) In the 2019-2020 academic year, students actively participate in various school collective activities, enthusiastically serve classmates, and be able to assist the school's department of international student management in work, or have contribution to other important international cooperation projects or admission of international students.

B) The grades of the compulsory courses required for the above academic year must be 60 or above.

b. Scholarship criteria

Outstanding Service Award: （First prize: 10000 yuan; Second prize: 6000 yuan; Third prize: 2000 yuan)

Service Award: 1000yuan / person

(4) HSK Award

a. Detailed Requirements

Applicants must pass HSK level 5（above 260 points）or 6（above 240 points）.The time for obtaining the HSK certificate must be from September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020.

b. Scholarship Criteria (sorted by score, 5 candidates each)

level 5: 600yuan/person

level 6: 800yuan/person

3. Preparation of application method and materials

(1)Time for Application: December 28 2020-January 8, 2021

(2) Method for Application:

(a) Outstanding Student Scholarship: Apply at the belonging college in accordance with the relevant requirements.

(b) Competition Bonus, Community Service Award and HSK Award: Students in China should submit the paper application materials to Office 320 at College of International Exchange; students who are not in China should send the electronic application materials to ciestudents@126.com by email. (3) Materials for Application:

a. Outstanding Student Scholarship:

1) Application Form of Outstanding Student Scholarship of International Student of Shenzhen University.

2) Relevant materials: transcripts for the 2019-2020 academic year, etc.

b. Competition Bonus:

1) Application Form for Shenzhen University International Student Competition Bonus.

2) Relevant documents: National and provincial contestants must provide relevant certification materials, and municipal competition winners must provide award certificates.

c. Community Service Award:

1) Application Form for Shenzhen University International Student Community Service Awards;

2) Relevant certification materials: transcripts for the 2019-2020 academic year,  social work performance introduction and relevant certification materials

d. HSK Award:

1) Application Form for Shenzhen University International Student HSK Awards;

2) The HSK certificate.

4. Others

(1) If the applicant applies for an outstanding student scholarship, competition award, and social work award at the same time, the specific award that the student finally receives will be determined on the principle of high bonus amount.

(2) The number of scholarships will be slightly adjusted according to the actual situation at that time. It is a competitive scholarship, and the result is determined by the ranking of the evaluation scores.

(3) In the case in which an applicant of the scholarship is found of breaking state law or university regulations, his or her application is immediately withdrawn, any given award will be canceled, and such student will be ineligible for scholarship in the following year.
